How do I get started?

Open Tailor, then go to Settings to set up your profile and populate your Experience Bank with your work history. Once that's done, create a new job application and use AI tailoring to generate a resume and cover letter matched to the job description.

Where is my data stored?

All of your data — profile, work history, applications, and generated resumes — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Tailor has no cloud database or user account system.

What data is sent to the server when I use AI features?

When you use AI features (tailoring, cover letters, compatibility scoring, etc.), only the relevant portions of your profile and the job description are sent to our server for processing, then returned to your device. Nothing is permanently stored on our servers. See our Terms of Service & Privacy Policy for full details.

How do I back up or export my data?

Go to Settings → Data to export a JSON backup or create a snapshot. We recommend keeping a backup before major app updates.

AI features aren't working — what should I check?

Make sure you've accepted the Terms of Service in Settings. Verify your API configuration under Settings → API. If you're using a custom OpenAI key, confirm it is valid and has available credits.

How do I report a bug or request a feature?

Please open an issue on GitHub. Include your macOS or iOS version, what you were doing, and what happened versus what you expected.
